Denon AH-D1000 or AH-D1001 are one of the best choices in the "under $150" category. Lightweight (130 g.), efficient, and driven loud by anything, even the least powerful portable player. The dynamics of these headphones are stunning - all music will be that much more lifelike when played through the AH-D1000.

Prices fluctuate within the $80-150 range. A set of AH-D1000 or AH-D1001 can be had for some $82-90 at Amazon.comalt or EBay. Silver (S) paint is somehow less popular than black (K), so silver-painted sets can be cheaper.

Note: Amazon.com won't show prices below MSRP.

Isolation is quite good, though slightly less than that of larger headphones like RP-21.

Build is quite good; not tank-like, but sturdy. Won't break easily.

FAQ: AH-D1000 and AH-D1001 are the same model; the only difference is an additional carry bag packed with the AH-D1001.

Comfort is excellent: AH-D1000 barely remind of themselves. Lightweight & comfortable; no earphones (and many headphones) will ever come close to the AH-D1000/AH-D1001 level of comfort.

Alternatives

Roland RH-300: slightly more demanding to amplification, better isolation;

AKG K-240 Studio: more detailed, a bit "larger-than-life" in presentation, but require a recable (+$50 or so);

AKG K-271 Studio: less bassy, some would say "more refined", but require a recable ($50 or so) and have a more constrained bandwidth (rolloff starts at ~18 KHz);

Audio-Technica ATH-A900: roughly equivalent electrically and just as undemanding to amplification, but somewhat more expensive.
